NAB Stand-Ins
This activation for the 2012 Toyota AFL Grand Final gained 98% more social media attention for NAB than all the other sponsors combined.
We searched Australia for unhappy footy fans who would be normally be working on Grand Final Day and then gave them free tickets to the game while a NAB Banker stood in for them at work. As the game kicked off, tweets kept Australians updated on how the NAB Stand-Ins where handling their work tasks. Then live crosses on the big billboards at the game and on the national TV broadcast showed the NAB Stand-ins in action. As a result NAB became the most talked about brand during the AFL Grand Final even ahead of the major sponsor, Toyota.
